Created in the immediate aftermath of recent attacks in the Middle East and borrowing from the symbolism of Picasso’s “Guernica” 1937, this is an acknowledgement of the atrocities of war and the way in which those of us who are a step removed, and overwhelmed by information in the media, deal with the emotional overload.    For most of us, it becomes necessary to avert our gaze – as we would avoid looking directly into the sun.
